What Happened To Your Dreams | Karben On Air # 9

I want to start out by asking each of you one simple question - what happened to your dreams?

You know those things that you were passionate about as a little kid? When you were set on becoming an astronaut, doctor, firefighter, president, police officer, princess, professional athlete all at the same time. Or when you re-evaluated those dreams as you became wiser in your high school and college days. The dreams became a bit more realistic and changed to starting your own business, writing a book, make a difference in the world in some way.

What happened to those dreams?

Did you decide that you're going to put them off until tomorrow, and you've been saying that the last 10 years? Did you say you want to hold off for a couple years when you'll have more time, which will never come. Or did you just forget about them entirely? Why did you forget about them? What happened to your dreams?

I can tell you with absolute certainty, that if you don't start working towards your dreams now then you never will. You'll always come up with an excuse for why you should put them off. So I need you to start today...RIGHT NOW.

I can also tell you that if you don't have a reason to start these things...a true reason...then you'll never start. You can't start a business for the sole purpose of becoming a millionaire. You start a business because you want to make a difference. A difference for yourself and for the others around you - for your family, your kids, their kids. You want to create a legacy that will live on past your time on this earth.

That's a true reason. With a reason like that you'll be able to fight the adversities that you're sure to face along your journey.

You can't decide that you want to be healthier and workout more simply because you want to look better. You workout because you're tired of being called fat. You're tired of looking in the mirror and not being happy with what you see. You need something that will push you through every single workout because it's not going to be easy.

You can't write a book for the fame. You write a book because you want to make your parents proud, your kids proud, your friends proud. That's a true reason to start.

Now, more than ever, it's crucial that we spend more time on doing what we love. We don't have time to go through life depressed and unhappy with our lives. We're not promised tomorrow, and that's never been more evident than it is now in our country.

When you look back on your life, do you want to say that you achieved everything you wanted to in your life? Or do you want to say that you had a lot of dreams but you never pursued any of them?

They say that the richest place on earth is in the graveyard. The graveyard is where there are ideas that were never acted upon. Books that were never written. Companies that were never started. Dreams that were never brought to fruition.

So what's stopping you? What are you waiting on? You need to start today. Start taking action towards those things that have been burning deep within you for years. Spend more time on doing things that you love, and let's make this place that we live just a little bit better.

Take a minute to be a kid again, and remember the days where it felt like everything in the world was possible.

Thanks for listening, and keep doing what you love!
